Patty Bortz

Patty Bortz began her career practicing law as a staff attorney for the Alabama Supreme Court before working as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama U.S. Attorney’s Office. Her legal career included working as Assistant Regional Counsel for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, where she designed and oversaw the Bureau’s National Paralegal Training Program. She took time off from practicing law to raise two now-adult children and transitioned her career into the non-profit world, where she has worked to improve Colorado’s public education and later to enrich the lives of seniors. She is a certified mediator and a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA). Patty serves on a number of boards and volunteers for causes about which she is passionate. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and her law degree from the University of Denver.
